Social Justice Topic

Social justice, what is social justice?  It’s based on the concept of human rights and equality, and can be defined as “the way in which human rights are manifested in the Related imageeveryday lives of people at every level of society.” An example of social justice is someone fighting for any LGBTQ rights, or for racism, sexism, and many more. Its something that people fight for almost everyday through marches, posters, the news, ECT. Today in the foundation unit, we are getting the chance to focus on a social justice and fight about it.

The social justice topic that I chose is freedom of speech: Teenagers voice. I chose this topic because, I notice that many teenagers opinion never get heard because they often get shut out by adults because us teenagers are stuck with the stereotype that we are selfish or ignorant or that we are too young to understand these topics. I feel as if many of this opinions can help us settle a situation with either politics or anything that is Image result for having your voice heardconsidered for “only adults” with opinionated based things. Lets say voting with Trump and Hillary. Honestly many teens had a voice in which candidate was better for our country with a reasonable explanation. Not many of us actually are those stereotypical things, many know what there are talking about even if it’s just “adult things.”

A few places on where freedom of speech: teenagers voice may happen is at really bad schools, often at home, voting, an office (when a teen gets a chance to visit one), or even those people who call if the person is guilty or not during a trail. It’s something that Related imagesociety should change because it’s shutting down many possible great ideas that may be in the benefit of our future or in this case, a good future of the teenager. This can change the way that we may think allowing us to ask ourselves if their opinions even matter to the world or to the people. Which is a yes but often can be seen as a no. This can also affect the future to the teenagers of today.

I believe that if society was willing to make this change, I believe that many great ideas will start to show up or many great life changing things that is happening all around the world with the creative mind of a teenager. Or possibly, the first teenager to speak out about politics and what it may be doing wrong or right and what can be changed or kept the same about it. The voice of a teenager of whatever situation can be Related imagesuper strong and effective which is why the way that I will be showing this social justice is through a 12 x 18 poster with a drawing, shape, slogan, of what is supposed to represent my topic. I’ll be using magazines and cut out any color, shape, words, letter that I will need and stick it right onto the poster making sure that I use every little inch of that poster! The voice of a teenager is strong, let us change the view.
