Foundation

Foundation Design Class-

Us students at the UA Maker Academy have many courses in our school life, although, Related imagethere is one class that really stands out then the rest which is Foundations. Foundations is a CTE class where we learn many things that takes on the design program of the school. We will learn coding, color theory, typeface design and many more that will soon come. Of course, there will be challenges every now and then and it has its ups and down but we work as a class to get all the help we that need. During our class time, the period usually last around 57 minutes. For my own schedule I have this class 4 days a week expect Friday.  Why am I exactly required to take this class? Well, this class is the start of computer science and digital media which are consider the two pathways. If we were to pass this class, we then get to choose one of the pathways to continue our design course in this school. Unfortunately, for those who don’t pass this class then they will have to take the Spanish course. At the end of the year, what I’m hoping to get out of this class is, finally being able to learn coding and know the layout of computer science and digital media.

Color Theory-

Moving onto our first lesson of the class. “Color theory mini website” the name was. This project was also combined with learning the html codes which we will get onto later. The

color theory mini website was based on the color wheel. We had to create 6 websites based one primary colors, secondary colors, complementary colors, tertiary colors, analogous color. We also had to create a index web page for these website so we can combine them into one so each one has access to the other. But before we go into these websites had to first learn about the html coding. In html coding there is a basic start which is the layout or the base for html coding. <!DOCTYPE html><head><title></title></head><body><table></table></body></html>. This is the base of all of our website. We then learned how to set up the table which I’ll admit it took us some time to learn but in the end we were all able to pull off. Now, the 6 websites that we had to do was based on their colors. For example, lets say primary color. In this website we had to find an image that went with primary colors which is blue, red, and yellow. This went along with the other websites (complementary, tertiary, secondary, and analogous colors.
