In this foundation project, it goes along side with my English project which is a flash fiction story. In foundation I had to create a movie poster that will define my story by just looking at it.

Discover-

     What is a pictograph and where do you see them? Pictograph is a stylized visual symbol that will provide information clear enough for the audience to know it immediately. It’s a picture without words that is still able to communicate messages. A few examples of these signs are, on the streets, in airports, supermarkets, public buildings and many more. Which design principles will you apply to your poster layout and design? The design principle that will be applied to my poster will probably be white space, as well as Repetition and Balance. What resources are you using to get the information that you need? The resources that I will be using in order to get the information needed is, the computer, my peers, notes and my teacher.

Define-

What is the problem? The problem is making the poster. What are the requirements? The requirements is to make sure to use 2 or more principles of design, story line with a clear/simple/visual narrative, making the drawing simple but well, make sure that the whole page is designed. What are the constraints? The constraints are that the colors will be black and white, must use a pencil as well as a straight edge. What pictographs are you using and why? The pictographs that I will be using is a globe and an explosion on top. I’ll be using this because I feel like its what will mostly define my story.

Design-

    For one of the designs I did just an explosion which is good but it mostly shows a portion of the story along side of the government building. Although these two weren’t my best, the one that I stuck with is the globe exploding. I chose this because I feel like its what defines the story more and its the one that I mostly believe will be successful.

Develop-

  List the materials and supplies you will need for your designs. The materials and supplies that I would need for my design is a pencil, ruler, xacto knife, and black construction paper. Write any problems you have and any changes you made to your designs and why. The only problem that I’m having is just a lining the explosion and the earth to make it more easier to cut out. I originally wanted to do an army pointing at people but the earth exploding is how the story starts and take off so I figured that was better.
